He found me

Lost, in a desert, cold and hungry; Hoping someone would come to save me.

I was near giving up, no relief in sight; Until I looked up, and He made it right.

He gave me the Light, showed me The Way; He gave me Life, and now I am not astray.

He found me and made me His own, I put my trust in Him and Him alone.

Since I gave Him my life, my love, and my trust; I have to need, no want and no lust

Found, in His love, safe and warm; I found my shelter in my storm.

Why not me?

Why was not it me, Oh lord;

Why wasn’t me?

To deny your name and word;

To close my eyes and refuse to see.

Tell me why it was not me.

Help them to see, Lord and Saviour;

Help them to see.

The gracious and merciful God you are,

And the one that makes all men free;

Open their eyes, and help them to see.

Let me be the light, strong tower;

Let me be the light!

To guide them with your power,

To the truth and the right.

Oh let me be that shining light.

Draw me nearer, dear Father;

Draw me nearer!

While others follow another,

And your face don’t fear.

Pull me close and draw me nearer.

I will not deny you, King of all;

I will not deny you!

Though I often fall,

To you only I will be true;

And I will not deny you.

A hopeful heart

“My Lord is great,

gracious and kind;

on him I will wait,

he give peace of mind.

Full of compassion is my God,

slow to anger and great in Mercy;

I will declare his praises abroad,

and his great works for all to see.

My Father is good to all,

And draws ever so nigh;

to all those who call,

and all the night cry.”

Be Still, My Child.

“Be still my child, be still”
Softly whispers the Father,
As we sit on the shore of the water.
And he holds me in his arms so gentle.

“The storm is almost over, the clouds rolling away”
His voice so calming speaks, vanishing my fear,
And his gentle touch, makes my trembling disappear.
As the night fades, and turns into day.

I see a crowd come near, and shove me aside,
And I fall behind the group, and lose my view,
Of the one who calms and give me peace anew.
And I tremble and in fear cry aloud.

The people begin to part, and a figure appears,
He smiles and extends his gentle hand;
And with his touch, I find the strength to stand.
And with these words he said: “My dear child, why didst thou fear?”

I felt a comfort, and a peace instill.
In which I will forever hold dear,
And I’ll never forget those words I heard:
“Be still, my child, be still

A trade.

You gave me blindness
When I asked for sight;
I asked for a voice,
But you made me mute;
I asked for hearing,
But you gave me deafness;

You gave me sorrow,
When I asked for joy;
I asked for healing,
You gave me pain;
Then I asked for relief,
You said you’ll give it tomorrow.

That I may be the eyes to the blind,
The voice for the mute;
The ear for the deaf,
The smile for the sad,
And the healer to the hurt.

That I may feel the world of night,
Speak the voice of quietness;
Hear the sound of silence,
To experience the sadness;
And to break with pain,
With heaviness of the heart.
